The greatest pleasure is to find that there is hardly anyone around.You will come across an occasional farmer on his tractor but apart from that, you can have miles of open country to yourself. Large open areas of arable land at the tops of hills coupled with more intensive cultivation of lavender and sun flowers in the valleys make for a pretty scene round every corner. The valleys usually have a stream running through them and the area is well served with lakes too. If you hire bikes you will find there is very little traffic on the roads either, making it a lot safer to ride around than in the UK.
